About me
Raised in the Detroit area in a Modern Orthodox community, Ariel attended K-12 Jewish Day School. After graduating, he attended the University of Michigan, majoring in Political Science with a minor in Film Studies. After working in Television in LA and Jewish non-profit in Chicago, he pursued an MBA at Tel Aviv University with an extension at HEC Paris in France. Now living in New York, he works at the Jewish Theological Seminary as their first Chief of Staff. Throughout the various cities in which he has lived, he has always been engaged with the Jewish community. In college, he was active and served at the University of Michigan Hillel. In Chicago, he was part of the Jewish United Fund, particularly their YLD Pride programming and the Base Hillel locations. In New York, Ariel is an avid Manhattan “shul hopper” and frequently host Shabbat Dinners, both as an opportunity to share the spirit of Shabbat but also to meet new people He loves watching improv comedy, Citi-biking, and exploring neighborhoods by foot. He love to read and learn, particularly Yiddish literature, history, and memoirs; his favorite book: 'Just Kids' by Patti Smith. Otherwise he is usually listening to the "2000 Year Old Man" by Mel Brooks and Carl Reiner.
