About me
Julie Katz is passionate about empowering advocates for the Jewish community. Katz is currently serving a one-year appointment in the U.S. State Department’s Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism under Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt. Before transitioning to the State Department, she served in the Atlanta office of American Jewish Committee (AJC) for seven years. During her time at AJC, she facilitated several advocacy initiatives, including legislative outreach, antisemitism trainings, and intergroup coalition building. She also started AJC Atlanta's Jewish advocacy program for high school students (Leaders for Tomorrow) and the Black/Jewish Teen Initiative. Katz was a 2019 recipient of Jewish Atlanta’s 40 Under 40 award, a 2020 recipient of the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network 30 under 30 award, and a member of the 2023 LEAD Atlanta cohort. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Criminal Justice from the University of Georgia and a Master of Education in Organizational Leadership and Learning from George Washington University.
